Emily Irene VanCamp was born in Canada and is an actress who has starred in multiple television series. VanCamp also has a great record in the field of film. The actress is well-known on Canadian as well as American television. When Emily was 12 she became interested in acting after she visited her elder sister Katie at the location of one of her movies. After realizing her passion for acting, she began to take acting classes and went for auditions. Her first major break at the age of 15 when she was cast as a regular in the WB show Glory Days. Although the show was canceled after just nine episodes, Emily's acting was noticed by Dawson's Creek writer Greg Berlanti who enlisted her on his television show Everwood.
